The Italian Designer
This was Adriano's first visit to Israel. The Israeli host company asked us to give him a meaningful experience and booked a two-day tour of Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem. Following an exhausting night-flight from Rome, breakfast and an interview for a business newspaper, we knew we had to keep him active, so that his fatigue didn't have the best of him. Luckily, our preliminary research had found that Adriano was an athlete, a heavy motorcyclist throughout Tuscany and that was how he got his creative inspiration.

The renowned designer experienced Tel-Aviv by means of a bicycle ride along the boardwalk to hummus in the Yemenite Quarter and a tasting tour in the Carmel market.

The next day, before we went to the Old City of Jerusalem, we had arranged a visit to the Department of Industrial Design at Bezalel Academy. To Adriano's and our delight, the head of the department consented to give us a tour of the final projects that were on exhibit that day. As we were leaving the school we heard Adriano excitedly talking on the phone with a friend in Milan. He later explained that he wanted to bring the Milan Annual Design Convention to Jerusalem…
