When I am visiting Haifa, I always like to start my site seeing at the top of Mount Carmel, from which one can see the big blue natural bay. I like to gaze at the anchored ships in the port and try to distinguish their national flags hanging proudly at the top of their masts.
Theodore Herzel, the bearded Hungarian Jew, the great visionary of the Zionist Movement had never been to Haifa, yet he described it so vividly in his book, as exact as the view I am looking at now …
